VOCABULARY
I picked up some new vocabulary from mostly writing the debates since I'm not largely
invested in politics and a lot of the terms there were new for me. The intercultural
sensitivity scale wasn't a new thing for me, however I still learned how to better
explain it.
DEBATE
It took me quite a long time to finish my opening speeches. I also lack
knowledge in politics and because of that it was also hard to come up with
my three main key points- however with the help of a friend I got some
background information and managed to come up with something convincing
enough. I always leave the thesis statement as the last thing I write, and before
writing anything I write down the first sentences of the middle paragraphs where I
explain my points. After writing and re-reading it multiple times to fix any
mistakes made, I practiced my speech a lot until I felt confident enough with it.
REVIEW
Since I enjoyed this film the most, I also wanted to write a lot about it, which brings me to my first and only challenge I faced upon writing this review. I wrote an almost 400-word review and realized I need to shorten it to around 260 words. It was a painful process to delete 1/3 of my sentences that I deemed unneeded but it was either that or points off.
It was the easiest to write the last review minus the shortening process.
