Changing democracy

How to make democracy work better for us (citizens) – Socrates believes, that only those people should be charge, who have the experience and education to avoid making thoughtless mistakes through voting. How should we fix this?

“I don’t care who does the electing, as long as I get to do the nominating.” – Boss Tweed

It seems, that the main problem in democracy is that there is absolutely no way for all of our opinions to be heard as that would be already too much work, or is that just an excuse for corruption? If we could instead be the ones to choose the nominations, then we could choose the people who actually matter to us, because if this step is done before us, then we might end up end results that do more harm than good. This would give us, the citizens, an actual chance for our voices to be heard.
