COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course introduces United States studies from 1877 to the present. Along the way we will look at the foundations of American government, the settling of the Western frontier, Industrialization and Immigration to the United States, the Progressive reform movement, America’s empire building and involvement in international wars, the Great Depression and growth of government involvement in Americans’ lives, the Cold War, the Civil Rights Movement, the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and the Conservative Era. Students will experience research, data analysis, written and oral analysis, individual assignments, and group projects as they apply their knowledge and expand their skills. Additionally, students will be prepared with the skills and knowledge targeted on the State of Ohio’s End of Course Exam, a requisite for receiving a diploma in the State of Ohio.

* A hard cover copy of the book will be assigned.
