Frequently Asked Questions

When should I register? Can I wait until this summer?

Participants can register anytime after the event registrations open; however, please understand that some sessions will fill up quickly, and spots will not be held. Registrants are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible to save a seat, with Early Bird discounts available for participants who register before May 1.

What if I register but then realize I cannot attend?

What if I can’t attend all four days?

In order to earn graduate credit or PDE credit, attendees must attend all 30 hours of the APSI. In addition, it is expected that all Nevada teachers will attend the institute in its entirety.

Why do Nevada teachers have a different tuition fee than non-Nevada participants?

Full cost of the SSAPSI is $875. Fortunately, with the support of the Nevada Department of Education and the Clark County School District, the tuition fees for Nevada teachers are subsidized so that teachers only pay a fee of $45 to attend the Silver State APSI.

What if I have specific dietary requests?

Vegetarian and Gluten-Free options will be available daily, however, you know your health needs best. Lunch selections will be available upon registration; if none of the options meet your dietary requirements, please feel free to bring your lunch to the SSAPSI. Please contact SSAPSI Staff with any specific questions.

What if I am a nursing mother? Is there a mother’s room available during the institute?

Yes. The SSAPSI will have a safe and secure location available for nursing mothers. Please see SSAPSI Staff in Headquarters for further details.

What if I have accessibility needs for the SSAPSI?

Liberty High School is a two-story building, with an accessibility ramp and elevator access (upon request). Please contact SSAPSI Staff with specific accessibility requests, so we can be sure to assist you.

I have previously attended the SSAPSI, how can I find the credits I earned?

Depending on whether you opted to earn graduate credit from UNLV or PDE credit from CCSD will determine whom you should contact. Please see "Credit Options" for contact information for each of these two options.
