Travel Information
Participants and consultants are responsible for their own transportation and lodging while attending the SSAPSI. For your convenience, we have arranged discounted rooms rates at our host hotel, as well as daily shuttles service between the institute and the host hotel.
Local Airport
Harry Reid International Airport is conveniently located only 15 minutes from the SSAPSI.
Participants who are flying into Las Vegas should plan to arrive in Las Vegas on Sunday, July 28. If you are staying at our host hotel, South Point Hotel and Casino, you may schedule a complimentary airport shuttle.
Please remember that the institute ends at 4:00 p.m. on the final day of the institute. To receive full credit for attendance, participants must attend all 30 hours of the training.
Outgoing flight reservations should be made anytime after 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. A shuttle will travel directly from the institute on the final day to Harry Reid International Airport. On the final day, the shuttle will leave Liberty HS at 4:05 p.m. sharp.
Host Hotel
Participants are responsible for their own lodging arrangements while attending the Silver State AP Summer Institute.
The SSAPSI host hotel is the South Point Hotel & Casino at 9777 Las Vegas Blvd South, Las Vegas, Nevada 89183. A block of rooms is available for $75/night for the nights of July 28-August 1, 2024, resort fee and room tax are not included. Room rates are guaranteed until July 6, 2024 so make your reservations soon! A credit card is required to make reservations.
Silver State AP Summer Institute provides bus transportation between the South Point Hotel and Liberty High School on Monday through Thursday.

The resort fee includes in-room WIFI/ internet, free local/toll free phone calls, fitness center access, complimentary airport shuttle, in-room coffee maker, complimentary printing of boarding passes, and complimentary parking.

If you are staying at our host hotel, South Point Hotel and Casino, you may schedule a complimentary airport shuttle for transportation to and from the South Point Hotel and McCarran International Airport.
South Point Hotel and Casino to/from Liberty High School
The Silver State AP Summer Institute does provide daily shuttle service between our host hotel, South Point, and Liberty High School.
A morning shuttle will depart the South Point Hotel for Liberty HS at 7:00 a.m., 7:15 a.m., and 7:30 a.m.
The afternoon shuttle will depart Liberty HS for the South Point Hotel at 4:05 p.m.
On the final day of the institute, SSAPSI will run a shuttle to the hotel, as well as directly to Harry Reid International Airport. This shuttle will depart Liberty HS at 4:05 p.m. on the final day of the institute.
