Award Requirements
This award is named in honor of Norris Music alumnus, Susan Twiehaus.
Susan was a very talented musician who received the National Choral Award and was selected for the Vocal Music Wall of Fame because of her many accomplishments and contributions to Norris Vocal Music during her tenure at Norris. Susan was well-known for her willingness to help others. Any time a task was assigned to students, Susan would complete her task and then help others complete theirs. She was always the first to arrive and the last to go home at all performances making sure that every last robe was hung up and that no loose ends were left for the next day. Susan was trustworthy, positive, caring, encouraging, humble, patient, and a servant leader.
This award is for students like Susan who are the servant leaders of our groups. When we ask for volunteers for any and all tasks, they are always the first to offer to help. Many times they do things without us asking and sometimes without us even thinking about it and never for accolades. We depend on their eagerness, timeliness, and responsibility in handling any project. We would like to recognize and sincerely thank those kinds of leaders for their selfless contributions to our choirs. We appreciate you very much!
