Audition Directions for Shrek the Musical Student Ensemble

• Auditons are due May 20, 2026.

• First, please listen to the Story of My Life Learning Track below to learn a short section of "Story of My Life."

• Story of My Life Learning Track  (Please sing all 15 seconds of it...you may do the speaking parts, too, if you want...have fun!)

• Once you have learned the song, please VIDEO RECORD your student singing the song with the learning track by using your phone, tablet, or whatever works best for you.  Please make sure we can hear your student's voice over the learning track.  

• Next, upload your video to YouTube.  Instructions

• Copy the Link (get sharable link) for your video so you may add it in the Google Form.

• Fill out this GOOGLE FORM, paste your YouTube link, and submit it by May 20.

• That is all.  THANK YOU!

SHREK STUDENT ENSEMBLE GENERAL INFORMATION

Who:  2026-2027 Norris 3rd, 4th, and 5th Graders (next year)     

When:  Auditions are due via GOOGLE FORM by Wednesday, May  20, 2026

Notify:  We will notify you by Monday, May 25 if your child is selected.

PERFORMANCES:

The shows take place this fall and your student would perform as a “fairy tale creature” in the first 45 minutes or so and then will be dismissed to you to take home or watch the rest of the show:

• Matinee Performance for the Elementary and Intermediate TBD

• Tuesday, September 29 at 7:00 PM

• Thursday, October 1 at 7:00 PM

• Saturday, October 3 at 7:00 PM

• Sunday, October 4  at 2:00 PM (stay for bows at this performance!)

POSSIBLE Rehearsals (this may change a bit…we will let participants know):

• September 7-11 at 7:45 AM in the intermediate building music room

• September 14  from 3:35 to 5:00 PM in the auditorium (pick them up at 5PM)

• September 21 from 3:35 to 5:00 PM in the auditorium (pick them up at 5PM)

• September 23 from 3:45 to 5:00 PM in the auditorium (bring costume to school)

  • September 14, 21, 23 (we will bring them to the auditorium, you just pick them up)

• School Matinee Dress Rehearsals September 24 during school day (no special transportation needed)
