We are celebrating inclusion, empathy, and neurodiversity this March. The Special Olympics created the "Spread the Word" campaign to end the use of hurtful language and create a more inclusive future for everyone. It takes place during March, as a global campaign working towards inclusion for all people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Together, we can create a society where everyone is valued, celebrated, and free from the impact of harmful stereotypes.
We want our students to learn to respect one another, no matter ability or disability.
Which One Doesn't Belong? (for discussion about different perspectives)
Here are multiple examples of people respecting, empathizing, advocating, and including those with disabilities. These inspiring videos are meant to model positive behavior and spark conversation & change.
