Hello 8th Grade Lit Lab Students

This week there will be new assignments and learning experiences your teachers in ELA, Social Studies and Science have prepared for you.

I will be available to confer with you on writing projects in these subjects "virtually" through google doc comments.

Right now for this week I would like all of you to go to the new Schoology page I have set up for us.

It is called Bigelow Literacy Lab Grade 8. There is a discussion forum there for you and your Lit Lab classmates to join. The directions for posting, netiquette guidelines and topics for discussion are all set up for you and your classmates on the site.

The discussion forum will be a place for you to share with each other and with me (Ms. P!) the following three things

Journaling: Your thoughts, feelings, questions and reflections about your day to day experiences while you are "at home".

Personal daily writing : Short poems and narratives (personal or fictional) using figurative and descriptive language-

Book talks/reviews: Your independent reading book title, author, genre. What is happening in your book including: plot summary, character descriptions and major themes. Do you recommend it--why or why not?

Before and after your posting I encourage you to read the posts of your classmates and make positive comments, connections or compliments or ask a question. Please respond at least once to each of your classmates posts.
