EPIC is an online reading catalog, and is one of the main online resources that I use in my classroom. This program is free for teachers and is available for your child to use free of charge during school hours. The reason why I use this resource in my classroom is because it allows my students to have access to a much wider range of books than what I have available in my classroom. The program also tracks each student's reading history and even suggests books based on what they've previously read.
As stated before, the program is free for students in my classroom during school hours. That means that after a certain cutoff time (somewhere around 3:00), the program no longer allows access to my students. If you would like your child to continue to use EPIC at home, they offer a subscription service. Normally it would cost $8/month for a subscription, but for students in my classroom they can get a 25% discount to bring the cost down to $6/month.
