Ardrone

Parrot AR.Drone is a radio controlled flying quadrotor built by the French company Parrot (from Wiki) which is originally designed to be controlled by mobile or tablet running iOS or Android. However, in our lab, we managed to make the AR.Drone controlled by PCs or even themselves (which means autonomous). Equipped with HD front camera and bottom camera and with the help of our Optitrack system as well as Flight Recorder GPS, AR.Drone can be programmed to fly both indoor and outdoor. In DISCOVER lab, it serves as the platform for undergraduate project research. Students can work on various interesting aspects like vision, autonomous operation, cooperative tasking and so on.
