NSI Keith Myrick, Gunnery Sergeant, USMC (ret)
Biography:
Gunnery Sergeant Myrick enlisted into the United States Marine Corps and attended boot camp at Parris Island, South Carolina. Private First Class Myrick then reported to Marine Combat Training Command at Marine Corps Base Camp Geiger Jacksonville, North Carolina. PFC Myrick then went to Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida for Joint Combat Camera "A" School. PFC Myrick’s first duty station was with Marine Corps Air Facility where he served as the Air Facility duty photographer and Headquarters Squadron Unit Mail Clerk. Lance Corporal Myrick later transferred to Marine Corps Base Quantico in Quantico, Virginia, where he served as photographer and videographer for Training and Audio Visual Support Center. Upon receiving orders Corporal Myrick reported to 6TH Marine Corps Recruiting Command, Parris Island SC, where he served as District Photographer, Pacesetter Magazine staff member and Event Marketing Vehicle team. Sergeant Myrick then transferred to Marine Forces Reserve headquarters in New Orleans, Louisiana where he was charged with transitioning Combat Camera Unit to an all digital operation. Staff Sergeant Myrick then transferred to Marine Corps Base Camp Smedley D Butler on Okinawa, Japan there he served with various commands with 1ST Marine Air Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force, 3RD Marine Division and 3RD Force Service Support Group and Marine Corps Base Camp Foster. SSgt Myrick then transferred to Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina. SSgt Myrick volunteered for the Individual Augment program where he deployed to Afghanistan with Combined Joint Task Force 101. SSgt Myrick then volunteered to go recruiting he was then assigned to Marine Corps Recruiting School in Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Ca. Upon completion of Recruiter school Gunnery Sergeant Myrick reported to 4TH Marine Corps District in Charlottesville, Virginia where he served as a canvassing recruiter until his retirement on September 1, 2013. GySgt Myrick is the Naval Science Instructor for Woodstock H.S. since 25 July 2013 til present. GySgt Myrick has visited 22 countries in his 20 year military career. GySgt Myrick is married to the former Gwen Mickens and has two children Alexis Vall and Jarell Myrick.
Gunny Myrick is the cornerstone of Woodstock NJROTC after ten years with the unit!
