1. All cadets will be in the classroom on time and prepared for class.
2. When the period commences, call "Attention on Deck" when the SNSI or NSI enter the classroom. Remain at attention with no talking or moving throughout roll call.
3. Speak only when recognized by the classroom instructor or senior cadet in charge, being courteous at all times.
4. Participate! Be a leader! Volunteer answers to the question and ask questions on material you do not understand.
5. The cadets are responsible for maintaining classroom cleanliness.
6. Proper military courtesy is expected from cadets at all times. This includes proper salutes and a respectful manner when dealing with the SNSI/NSI and cadet officers in the chain of command. The words "Sir" and "Ma'am", as appropriate, are to be used freely. This applies to all administrators, faculty, and staff, as well as visitors at Freedom High School.
7. On uniform day, a complete and correct uniform is to be worn all day unless an instructor permits variations.
8. At the end of the class period, the platoon leader will announce "Attention on Deck" and "Dismissed". Immediately you will be given permission by the instructor or class leader to pack up and leave class. All cadets will exit out the front door.
9. Homework assignments are due on the date required by the NSI/SNSI. Late homework will be penalized 10 points per day.
10. While in uniform, proper military salutes and greetings are required to be rendered to all military officer and cadet officers senior to you. Salutes will be rendered to the Principle of Freedom High School when covered (hat on). Always salute when in doubt!
11. Accountability is something you should expect. In order for this unit to operate efficiently, when you are asked to have information or paperwork available by a certain day, it must be ready on time. If you do not have the material the day it is due, you will perform 5 push-ups. On each subsequent school day, if the material or information is still unavailable without an appropriate excuse, the push-up requirement will double (i.e. 10,20,40,80....).
12. NJROTC is a citizenship program. As such, you are expected to act as a good citizen while on campus. We expect you to take an active interest in both the morale and spirit at Freedom. As a Cadet, you should be upbeat and helpful to both you classmates and teachers. A Cadet solves problems, he/she does not create them. We expect you to keep the campus clean. The courtyard in front of our classroom is an extension of our classroom. It must be immaculate at all times. While walking between classes, pick up one piece of trash between each bell. Any violation of school rules resulting in in-school or out of school suspension will result in an appropriate NJROTC punishment, as determined by the NSI or SNSI.
