Wilson Winds

About the Group:

Wilson Winds is an honors wind ensemble that is designed to challenge students involved in the band program. A wind ensemble includes all the same instruments as a concert band but only has fewer players on each part.

Students who are interested in playing music of higher difficulty levels are strongly encouraged to audition. Some of the music is written specifically for wind bands and some of the music later in the year will be based on popular music.

The group participates in community events and attends competitions every year.

Students must be involved in band in order to participate and must go through an audition, as there are a limited number of spots in the band. It is recommended that students who are interested are also involved in the after-school lesson program but it is not required. Audition pieces are given out in class.

Auditions have taken place for this year's band; however, there may be openings to be filled. Vacancies will be listed in the August newsletter.
