Musical Objectives

• To teach music in a performance setting and provide students with opportunities to perform
• To develop the skills to perform on an instrument
• To provide all students with the opportunity express themselves via music
• To critically listen to and assess their personal performance, that of the group, or other groups
• To gain an understanding of careers in music and the expectations within the field

Life Skill Objectives

• To develop the ability to set goals for oneself and learn the persistence and patience that are required to attain those goals
• To develop and cultivate leadership and group skills
• To develop 21st Century Skills: Creativity; Critical Thinking; Problem-Solving; Decision-Making; Learning; Communication; Collaboration; Citizenship; Life and Career; and Personal and Social Responsibility.
