Eastern District Junior Festival
About the Program:
"The Eastern District Junior and Senior Festivals are extensions of school music programs and are designed to offer students in public, private, and parochial schools additional opportunities to rehearse and perform challenging literature with guest conductors." - MMEA Eastern District
Auditions will take place on February 1, 2019 at Needham High School with the time to be announced.
Open to Grades 7-8 (9 at NHS)
I can only allow 5 Flutes, Clarinets, or Alto Saxophones to audition so if interested, practice early and sign up quickly!
How to Audition:
- Prepare the solo work located on this list: Audition List. Students should have an original copy. You should be able to take the title down to a local music shop and they will be able to order it or you can attempt to find online. The advantage with the local music shops is they usually know they exact publishers and arrangements to order.
- Prepare the scales on the right hand side.
- Practice sight reading by logging into your Sight Reading Factory account.
