speak in French/Spanish 90% of the time during class
practice speaking the language outside of class
give oral presentations in front of the whole class or in small groups
complete homework/classwork on a daily basis and on time
practice/study the language on a daily basis even when there is no homework
use effective study & note-taking strategies
be prepared for class (have necessary materials/ stay organized)
ask for support if you need
take risks and be okay with making mistakes
Expectations for my Spanish students:
For each class session, students are expected to be on time and be prepared to work!
Students should be prepared with all materials for each class period.
Students need to attempt to speak in Spanish as much as possible.
Students should NOT have their cell phones on or out of their backpacks during class.
Students may have drinks and snacks as long as they do not become a distraction. (NO nuts)
Students must practice academic honesty and should NOT use Google translator or other such translation sites.
Students should use respectful language and be mindful of how their actions can affect others.
Students should check the class website for upcoming deadlines, assignments, to make appointments, and to find notes.
Students should make every effort to stay in the classroom for the entire period.
Cell phone violation policy
Students will be told to put the phone away.
After student has been told to put the phone away, if student has phone out again, the phone will be put on the bookshelf in the front.
After the phone has been taken away 3 times, the phone will be brought to the administration office.
