Statesman Award

The Statesman Award recognizes students who have demonstrated their leadership skills and have mastered certain requirements in leadership training. 

The SkillsUSA Montana Statesman Award is presented to members who demonstrate SkillsUSA knowledge and civic awareness, along with an understanding of the SkillsUSA Framework and how to articulate their personal experience in career and technical education.

Process for completion:

1.     To a state officer, recite the answers to the 10 SkillsUSA Montana knowledge questions, the mission and theme and the 30-second elevator speech and Interview.  Have the officer initial the spaces by all the questions that he or she has reviewed.

2.     Complete the pre-conference assignment.  Turn it in during FLC 2023 during chapter check-in or emailing in advance.

a.      What does “SkillsUSA: Champions at Work No Limits" theme mean to you, and why is the theme fitting for SkillsUSA this year!

b.     Describe a government or community service activity that you participated in.

3.     Turn in your completed statesman materials at conference headquarters.
