Here is a great lesson/workbook for the carpentry contest.  To help the students more have the teacher look at the diagram named 18-3 and refer to the points A-B-C-F.  This is an example of what the students will be building on site.

Team Engineering Challenge- Bring list

1. Supplied by the Competitors:

   1. Safety glasses and side shields per competitor

   2. Ten (10) #1 paper clips

   3. Adhesives (Aerosol and electric applicators are not allowed)

      1. A bottle of Uncure or Debonder is recommended

   4. Temporary fastening devices

   5. Straight pins

   6. Clamps

   7. Cutting devices; none may be electric

   8. A cutting surface that prevents tabletop marring

   9. Rulers, straightedges, and/or measuring scales

   10. Abrasives sheets, sponges, boards

   11. Marking devices (pens, pencils, etc.) and sharpener

   12. Sheet of wax paper

   13. Pliers, wrenches, nut drivers, as needed
