Fall Leadership 2015

On October 26, 2015, the Masuk High School Future Business Leaders of America officers attended the FBLA Fall Leadership Conference.

The conference started with the introduction of the FBLA state officers who explained the importance of connecting with other people. Dr. Ed Weis, a dean at Mercy College, School of Business, then gave a presentation about skills essential for success in the business world and life in general to the FBLA conference attendees, which consisted of officers and members from other high schools throughout Connecticut.

The Masuk FBLA officers each attended two workshops, or seminars, specific to their officer position in FBLA. The seminars for the presidents of FBLA explained how to have an active membership and be an effective leader. The vice presidents were educated about entrepreneurship, hospitality and innovation. The secretaries, reporters and historians were taught about recruiting and retaining members for FBLA and the importance of developing one's network with people. The treasurers were informed about fundraising strategies that are effective and how social media can contribute to success. The day was then concluded with a statement from the FBLA state officers recapping the importance of connecting with the community.
