Ratio and Proportions

Score 4.0

In addition to scoring a 3.0 performance, the student demonstrates in-depth inferences and applications that go beyond what was taught.

Score 3.0

The student will:

  • Solve real-world and mathematical problems using ratios and unit rates by  reasoning about tables of equivalent ratios, tape diagrams, double number line diagrams, or equations. (6.RP.3)

  • Students will solve problems using unit rate especially unit price and constant speed.

  • Make tables of equivalent ratios relating quantities with whole number measurements, find missing values in the tables, and plot the pairs of values on the coordinate plane, and compare ratios.

  • Use ratio reasoning to convert measurement units; manipulate and transform units appropriately when multiplying or dividing quantities. (6.RP.3d)

Score 2.0

The student will perform basic processes :

  • Use ratio language to describe a ratio relationship between two quantities (6.RP.1)

  • Use rate language in the context of a ratio relationship. (6.RP.2)

  • Recognize multiple equivalent representations of ratios. (6.RP.1)

  • Convert measurements using equivalent ratios and scaling those ratios using tape diagrams, equations, double line graphs or tables. (6.RP.3d)
