MRec is offering a lifeguard training class at the Milton High School Pool. The class will be both classroom instruction and in the pool instruction to learn how to perform lifeguard skills. along with how to teach the proper steps of performing first aid.  With the completion of this course, the student will be a Red Cross Lifeguard/First Aid Certification.  

For this class there will be a pre test of a swim of 300 yard of continuous swimming, treading water for 2 minutes using only your legs and complete a timed event of retrieving a 10 pound object by starting in the shallow end of the pool, swim out 20 yards, surface dive to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve the 10 pound object. Once the 10 object is retrieved you will swim back to your starting point on your back. You will then exit the pool without using a ladder or steps. Any student taking the class must be 15 years old at the start of the first day of class (March 27th)

 Classes will be on Monday, Wednesday and Thursdays starting on Monday March 27th and Finish Thursday April 13th. Class dates are of the following March 27th, March 29th, March 30th, April 3rd, April 5th, April 6th, April 10th, April 12th and April 13th.  Class times will be 6:00pm- 9:30pm. 

Cost of the class is $150 dollars which will include learning materials required for the class. To sign up please call the Recreation Dept at 868-9393.

This will include Boys Baseball (3rd-8th grade), girls Softball (3rd-8th grade), Co-Ed Minor League (2nd grade),
Co-Ed Pitching Machine League (2nd grade), Big Hitters (1st and 2nd grade) and Little Hitters (4K and Kindergarten)
All grade level is off of current grade (2016-2017 school year)
