Jr/Sr HS Media Center - Technology Updates

During the summer some exciting upgrades and equipment moves were completed in the Jr/Sr HS Media Center.
An Epson BrightLink Interactive Projector was installed in the large meeting area of the media center. The whiteboard is 12 feet long with the projector spanning the left half of it. The right side of the whiteboard can be used to write on while the projector is being used.
The attached computer will have Smartboard software installed. A wireless keyboard and mouse is included so you can control the computer from anywhere in the room. There is also a 40 watt sound system that supplies plenty of audio to the room. Movies played on the Blu-Ray DVD player inside the cabinet under the computer create a theater-like environment in this large space.
Laptops can be attached to the projector as well. This will make presentations and training easier for visiting presenters in this room.

In the media center computer lab the large flat panel television was moved to the front of the lab.
A teacher computer at the end of the circulation desk will be displayed on the screen. This significantly improves classroom presentations in this lab. Students will finally have a "heads up" display in here!
The courtyard room also sports an upgrade. The projector from the large meeting area was moved into this room and mounted with a pull down projector screen. One of the computers in this room is connected to the projector and a cable is available for a laptop display as well.
For this project a large amount existing equipment was re-purposed and much of the labor was done in-house at a significant cost savings to the district. Thank you to Bill Martin who was instrumental in making the equipment moves happen.
