The syllabus (attached left) goes in depth to discuss course content to be learned and how student grades are administered and other classroom policies such as late / make up work, required supplies, and more. Below is a short summary of the remote learning supplies & grading policy.

Students should have the following ready for each live session and asynchronous class work:
Internet Connected Device (laptop / computer preferred)
One subject notebook (wide or college ruled)
Pencils and/or colored pencils
Online Platforms:
Class Website
Google Classroom (along with school Gmail / Drive account)
ZOOM virtual video meetings for Live Classes
STEMscopes Science Program
Grades will assess student understanding in content and in building science skills through the following categories:
Homework
Labs and Observations
Quizzes
Attitude & Teamwork
Grades (continued):
Letter grades reflect levels of student mastery of content and science skills practiced and refined in the classroom. Below is a short rubric* that matches what students are actually learning to a letter grade:
1 / NA = Beginning level; student competence unknown or inadequate (is incomplete and requires further student completion to show acceptable mastery level)
2 = Basic Level; student is able to partially articulate in written or spoken form and apply some information and skills at a basic level. (Applies to a letter grade of “C”)
3 = Proficient Level; student has a solid understanding and easily applies information / skills / attitudes to known situations. (Applies to a letter grade of “B”)
4 = Advanced Level; student shows sophisticated understanding or upper level skills and is able to find new or creative applications of information / skills / attitudes.
(Applies to a letter grade of “A”)
*This rubric will be used for a more detailed progress report that applies to specific content and skills. This progress report will be shared with students and parents from Mr. Prileson at the culmination of each quarter.
