3. I've sent an email to Mr. P; when should I expect to receive a reply?
A: While I do my best to respond to all emails promptly, I reserve the hours after 6 PM and before 6 AM as non-working hours for school-based communication.
4. What is the best way to keep up with what's happening in this science class?
A: This class website is the best starting point to each day's class, homework and assignments, and resources. In addition, emails from Mr. P with shared resources may be sent out to you on occasion.

1. What platform will students be receiving and submitting class assignments?
A: Students will use Google Classroom as our main platform for receiving content, assignments, and feedback for submissions.
2. What platform will "Live" class sessions use and what technology will students need?
A: Students will use Zoom for virtual live classroom sessions. Zoom offers tools such as breakout rooms, chat, response icons and other features. Students should login to Zoom using their student gmail accounts. If possible, students should use a laptop / computer for live sessions to best access video, microphone, shared screens, documents, and other resources. 3. What are the expectations for students during live sessions and using remote resources?
A: While each class will derive its own ideals and norms, please see the Class Expectations page for general rules and expectations for students in the remote setting.
4. What materials and resources will students need for distance learning?
A: Please see the remote learning resources section under the Syllabus & Grades page.
5. If students do not have access to a computer, internet or other technology, what should they do?
A: Please contact the school principal Michael Downs: mdowns@medford.k12.ma.us or the assistant superintendent Peter Cushing pcushing@medford.k12.ma.us to get help with accessing a device or internet coverage.
6. What other technology & resources will students use in the science class?
A: The class will use many integrative tools that work with the Google Education suite of tools and the new science program platform (STEMscopes). In addition, students will be using a coding site from MIT and library databases and catalogs to practice background online research. Sites and tools will always be vetted for safety, security, and ease of access prior to use with students.

2. What is the 7th grade science course content based on?
A: The course content is based off of the 2016 Massachusetts Curriculum Framework which Medford adopted in 2017.
3. How is this science course graded?
A: Please find the course grading policies here; this is based on grading policies from the district science department.
4. Where can I find my (student's) grades?
A: Student grades will be posted on School Brains (student access ; parent access). Students may also see their assignment grades on their google classroom account.
5. How was the assignment graded? I'm confused about or need clarification on the grade
A: If comments on the assignment shown on the actual document / item are insufficient, please feel free to set up an appointment or schedule a call with Mr. Prileson.
