Journalism

'Were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers, or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter.' – Thomas Jefferson

Beginning Journalism (Journalism 1)

Students in Beginning Journalism will learn valuable writing, editing, design, and photography skills, which can be applied in a number of professional fields. Their work in Beginning Journalism can be published either in the Peace Pipe Chatter or on peacepipechatter.com. This is a unique experience because your classwork might be seen by the entire student body and beyond.

Advanced Journalism (Journalism 2-4)

Advanced Journalism students produce the Peace Pipe Chatter and peacepipechatter.com in a timely, high quality manner in order to bring the news of the community to MCHS. They have the opportunity to expand their creativity in working in a hands-on environment that will mirror the structure of a real-world print and online newspaper.
