MAAC YouthBuild
MAAC YouthBuilders will work toward their high school diploma or GED while earning industry-recognized certifications in multimedia and construction. The program seeks to involve participants in construction projects that enrich surrounding communities. Strong emphasis is placed on leadership development, community service, teamwork, and the creation of an Individual Development Plan (IDP) to ensure post-program success.
This year, MAAC YouthBuilders will receive:
Classroom instruction to earn their high school diploma or GED
Training and certification in a technical area
Immediate one-on-one assistance in creating an Individual Development Plan (IDP) to ensure post-program productivity
Leadership Development and Work Readiness Training
OSHA 10 certification and basic green building construction skills training
The opportunity to participate in construction projects with Habitat for Humanity, the MAAC Weatherization team, Nosotros (a substance-abuse treatment center), and other local organizations
Job or post-secondary education placement assistance
Opportunities to participate in a paid internship through the South Bay Community Services EXCEL program for YouthBuilders who demonstrate exceptional commitment
