The link to the left will bring you to the Lone Wolf Website if you wish to play further in your adventures. I have made it up to and through Book Four - The Chasm of Doom!
Provided to you are numerous (and I mean a massive amount of material) resources for an early venture into DBQ Writing for the AP World History Examination in May 2021. In May you won't get this many resources to choose from, however, as a budding historian you will be tasked with scouring materials and choosing what best fits your needs. Your task is to use these resources and write your answer to the question "Is a hot dog a sandwhich?" Granted, the DBQ in May won't be so cut and dry, you will have statements to evaluate - but it is your task to use the sources - cite the sources, and argue your point. I am going to count this as a quiz grade.
Second to this assignment - I would like you to create your opwn source catalog. If you were writing a thesis paper, you would be required to find numerous sources (my last Masters Course I wroter a paper with close to 40 sources). For this second part to the DBQ (outside information) I want you to find five (5) sources that either support or go against your argument. Explain why you chose each source. This will count as a 50 point homework assignment.
Your rough draft of this assignment will be due to me by September 14th, 2020.
As we discussed on the first day of class, instead of notecards this year we are going to generate a Digital Vocabulary Book (DVN) that you will be in charge of.
Using our hardcover text book - you are to generate a list of vocabulary terms (already provided at the end of each chapter) and then you will generate information on that term.
1. Provide the definition that the text book has given - they can be found in the glossary of the book or in the columns as you read. Cite your source using EasyBib.
2. Include a minimum of two images per term and next to each image explain (no citations are required at this time)
a. Why you chose that image
b. Can that image be connected to other terms or images you have chosen, if so how?
3. One Step Beyond: Using additional resources, what else can you provide about the term you have defined. Cite your source using EasyBib.
I will give you a number of resources to use (copy and paste the information - but read it for understanding).
You may go beyond what I have provided, just make sure you cite your sources.

It is an open prompt - so I am not expecting any specific points of view or specific answers, but I do want to see you explore the beginnings of Imperialism, where did it start, why did it start, where did it expand, who was involved, reasonings for imperialism. Anything you speak about or discuss in your paper, you have to be able to defend - have sources to back you up. Brownie points if you can back up your sources with other sources.
This is a rough draft that will be submitted and not the final product - so - it will benefit you to do as much as you can this first time around. The more I can read and go through, the more I can comment on to help you make it better the second time around (which will be your final draft) the better it is for you.
