About Mrs. Shanmugam

My name is Akila Shanmugam (students call me Ms. Shan) and this is my third year of teaching at Lovejoy High School. I am teaching Chemistry and Forensic Science this year. I have a PhD in Chemistry from Madras University Chennai, India. I have about 20 years of experiences in Chemistry Lab, two of those at the Department of Neurology, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. I live in Allen, TX with my husband and two daughters, a Junior and a 7th grader.

Tutorial schedule:

I am available for tutorial sessions during Monday evenings from 4.20 to 5.00 PM and on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 8.15 to 8.45 PM. I am also available on Friday evenings (by appointment only). Please make sure to confirm with me in advance if you are planning to meet me on a Friday.
