Gymnastics/Obstacle Course

Oh do your students love this unit and ohhh does my body ache after this unit!
Grades 3-5 expand on what they learned in the lower grades to challenge them- selves with more difficult routines, balances and strength moves.
Gymnastics includes:
Floor Exercise/Tumbling/Partner Balances
Vault
Balance Beams - high beam & low beam partner challenge
Ropes
Parallel Bars
High Bar (it's actually rather low)
The Obstacle Course is one of the best workouts they will get in P.E. throughout the school year. As soon as they complete the course which consists of 15 or more elements they just start over again. They can challenge themselves and see how many laps of the course they can complete during class. Over, under, through, across, swinging, rolling, hurdling, balancing, motor planning... this course is a great workout!
