ACC DUAL CREDIT‎ > ‎

ENROLLMENT STEPS

START HERE: Click HERE to view the power point from Dual Credit Information Night.

Registration is completed online by the STUDENT. This registration is separate from VRHS classes.
(A student's VRHS schedule will show a VRHS class until the student has completely registered for ACC classes.)

ENROLLMENT CHECKLIST
There are MULTIPLE steps you must take before you can register for ACC classes.  Failure to meet deadlines will delay or,
in some cases, prohibit students from registering for ACC Dual Credit classes.

NEW & RETURNING STUDENTS:
1. ACC INTEREST FORM
  • All students interested in taking ACC Dual Credit classes during the summer and fall of 2019 need to fill out the VRHS ACC Interest Form- Summer & Fall 2019 Google Form.
  • Filling out this form doesn't guarantee placement an ACC course. You must still fulfill the requirements listed below.
  • Once you have official signed up for the ACC course(s), your VRHS schedule will reflect the ACC classes.
  • Without completing the steps listed below, you will remain in your VRHS classes.

NEW STUDENTS:
Must complete steps 2-5 one time only. After these steps are complete, students will be allowed to proceed to steps 6-7.  Please note, these steps can be worked on concurrently - for example, you can move on to steps 3 & 4 while you are waiting for your ACCeID to process through the ACC system.

2. APPLICATION
  • Go to www.austincc.edu/application; scroll down and click on "Begin Application" at the bottom of the page.
  • Complete and submit the online application. (If you do not have a SS#, please see Ms. Sauber for an alternate number.)
Tip: Choose Dual Credit as the basis of your admission; you can choose any major - it does not matter.
Note: Dual Credit students DO NOT need to submit a transcript or bacterial meningitis vaccination documentation.

2. ACTIVATE YOUR ACCeID AND ACCmail (MUST WAIT 24 HOURS AFTER COMPLETING THE APPLICATION)
  • Activate your ACCeID by going to www.austincc.edu and click on STUDENT at the top of the page; follow the steps to obtain your ACCeID, establish password, and set security questions – SAVE THIS INFORMATION.
  • Once you have obtained your ACCeID, go to www.austincc.edu and click on ACCmail at the top of the page; choose “Activation & Login Assistance” on the left and follow the steps to activate your ACCmail account.
  • Need help finding your ACC eID?
3. COMPLETE HIGH SCHOOL DUAL CREDIT ORIENTATION
4. COMPLETE COLLEGE READINESS TESTING REQUIREMENTS

Determine if you need to take the TSI Assessment (see TSI FOR DUAL CREDIT for qualifying exemption scores); if it is determined you are exempt from testing, you may skip to Step 5.  See Ms. Sauber if you need help determining your status.
  • If you do not qualify for an exemption, you must complete the Pre-Assessment Activity (PAA) prior to taking the TSI Assessment; join the appropriate TSI Google Classroom for Dual Credit students
TSI Dual Credit Google Classroom - join code id39rbs
    • At the end of the PAA, submit the Certificate of Completion; confirmation will then be emailed to you.
    • Follow directions in the Google Classroom to upload a screenshot of your PAA confirmation email.  You will not be allowed to test until documentation has been uploaded.  BE SURE TO LOOK AT THE SAMPLE SCREENSHOT TO UPLOAD THE CORRECT DOCUMENTATION.
    • Next, sign up for a TSI Assessment administration; do this by logging into your student Naviance account, then navigate to the "Colleges" tab, then under "My Colleges CHOOSE "View All Upcoming College Visits"; find an available test date in the list then click "Sign Up" then "Sign Me Up" until you see a green confirmation message at the top.  (Note - current 9th grade students will not see this option.  You must see Ms. Sauber to schedule your desired test date.)  You will not be admitted to testing if you have not completed steps 1 - 3 and the PAA.
    • Click here for TSI FAQs and Test Prep Resources.
    • The TSI is free if you are testing on the VRHS campus. If you can't attend a VRHS testing date, you can take the test at an ACC campus. ACC TSI Testing Information
Note: It is the student's responsibility to notify Ms. Sauber via email if you receive testing accommodations (for 504 and Special Education students); once approved to take ACC courses, you must work through the Student Accessibility Services (SAS) office at ACC to be approved for accommodations in the college courses.  Please contact Ms. Sauber for information on the SAS office.

    5. MEET WITH AN ACC ADVISOR
    • Meet with an ACC Advisor at any ACC campus or with a Dual Credit Representative during a pre-arranged advising session at your high school campus.  Check the College & Career Calendar for on-campus dates.  Students must be advised BEFORE they are allowed to register for classes.

NEW & RETURNING STUDENTS: Must complete steps 5-7 each semester to be eligible and enroll in classes.  New dual credit students cannot move on to steps 5-7  until TSI is met.

    6. COMPLETE THE ACC REGISTRATION REQUEST GOOGLE FORM (This has taken the place of the former ACC Enrollment Form but acts in the same way.)
    • The ACC Registration Request Google Form can only be completed after TSI testing is complete.
    • Ms. Sauber will submit the information form this form to ACC so the hold can be removed from your ACC account.
    • After the hold has been removed and registration is open, you will be able to enroll in ACC classes.
    • Filling out this form DOESN'T guarantee placement in an ACC class. Students are responsible for enrolling themselves.
    7. REGISTER
    • Plan the specific courses you wish to register for using ACC’s online Self-Service Student Planning tool.  This tool is explained during advising sessions.
    • Register.  Detailed online registration instructions can be found HERE

Note: Students who currently receive accommodations through a 504 or Individualized Education Plan (IEP) must work through the Student Accessibility Services (SAS) office at ACC to be approved for accommodations in the college courses.  Please contact Ms. Sauber for information on the SAS office.
