ENROLLMENT STEPS

Registration is completed online by the STUDENT. This registration is separate from VRHS classes. 
(A student's VRHS schedule will show a VRHS class until the student has completely registered for ACC classes.)

ENROLLMENT CHECKLIST
There are MULTIPLE steps you must take before you can register for ACC classes.  Failure to meet deadlines will delay or, 
in some cases, prohibit students from registering for ACC Dual Credit classes.

NEW & RETURNING STUDENTS:  
1. ACC INTEREST FORM
  • All students interested in taking ACC Dual Credit classes during the summer and fall of 2019 need to fill out the VRHS ACC Interest Form- Summer & Fall 2019 Google Form. 
  • Filling out this form doesn't guarantee placement an ACC course. You must still fulfill the requirements listed below. 
  • Once you have official signed up for the ACC course(s), your VRHS schedule will reflect the ACC classes. 
  • Without completing the steps listed below, you will remain in your VRHS classes. 

NEW STUDENTS:
Must complete steps 2-5 one time only. After these steps are complete, students will be allowed to proceed to steps 6-7.  Please note, these steps can be worked on concurrently - for example, you can move on to steps 3 & 4 while you are waiting for your ACCeID to process through the ACC system.

2. APPLICATION

Complete the Dual Credit application online: Austincc.edu/admissions/Apply Now

  •        Create an online profile – save your username and password
  •            Click Apply online – complete the online application
  •             When asked for your basis of admissions, indicate “Dual Credit”
  •             Wait 24 hours
Claim your ACCeID: Austincc.edu /Students /ACCeID - Follow directions for First-time users

1.        Find ACCeID – input last 4 of your social security # and last name

2.       Activate ACCeID – input ACCeID – set up password

3.       Choose Security Questions

Activate your ACC email: Acceid.austincc.edu/accMAIL/accmail.pl

  •  Input your ACCeID & Password
  • Follow directions to activate email

3. COMPLETE DUAL CREDIT CONTRACTS

The following contracts are required in order to participate in ACC Dual Credit:

  •  ACC High School Programs Early Admission Contract
  • ACC Orientation
  • LISD Orientation
  •  LISD Dual Credit Student Vehicle Transportation Form and Release of Liability (only for students taking classes during school year)

4. COMPLETE COLLEGE READINESS TESTING REQUIREMENTS

   Texas Success Initiative (TSI) requires all students to meet college readiness standards in the areas of Reading, Writing, and Math in order to take college classes. Students can meet TSI using one of the following scores:

***The math portion of the TSI is only required if students are planning to take a math course that includes but is not limited to courses like College Algebra or Economics. All classes require students to be TSI complete in English.          

 If your scores meet the standards listed above, move to step 4. If your scores do not meet these standards, follow directions for TSI testing below:

 Pre-Assessment Activity

  • Complete the TSI Pre-Assessment Activity (PAA): sites.austincc.edu/paa
  •  Thoroughly read each section
  •  Input your email address at the end
  •  Access completion certificate, print, and bring with you to the TSI test
  •  Student won’t be admitted to take the TSI without the Pre-Assessment Activity

 TSI testing

  • Schedule your TSI test @ VRHS (Free of charge)
  •  Test day info will be emailed to you prior to testing
  • Limited testing dates offered (Feb. 16th, Feb 23rd & March 9th)
  •  Sign up for your TSI test by visiting https://goo.gl/forms/09lBo2KnTVLVpBF53. Students must sign up at least 72 hours before the exam date.

  •         View testing center info and schedule: austincc.edu/admissions/tsi-assessment/tsi-assessment-schedule
Note: It is the student's responsibility to notify Ms. Sauber via email if you receive testing accommodations (for 504 and Special Education students); once approved to take ACC courses, you must work through the Student Accessibility Services (SAS) office at ACC to be approved for accommodations in the college courses.  Please contact Ms. Sauber for information on the SAS office.

5. Turn in all paperwork to Ms. Sauber in counseling office
  • Once you have turned in your paperwork, Ms. Sauber will invite you to one of her orientation meetings to go over the classes and how to register. Without the paperwork, you will not be invited to an orientation meeting and will not be able to register for ACC classes. 




RETURNING STUDENTS: Must complete steps 5-7 each semester to be eligible and enroll in classes.  

6. COMPLETE THE ACC REGISTRATION REQUEST FORM (This has taken the place of the former ACC Enrollment Form but acts in the same way.)

  • The ACC Registration Request Form can only be completed after TSI testing is complete. 
  • Ms. Sauber will submit the information form this form to ACC so the hold can be removed from your ACC account. 
  • After the hold has been removed and registration is open, you will be able to enroll in ACC classes.
  • Filling out this form DOESN'T guarantee placement in an ACC class. Students are responsible for enrolling themselves.
7. REGISTER


Note: Students who currently receive accommodations through a 504 or Individualized Education Plan (IEP) must work through the Student Accessibility Services (SAS) office at ACC to be approved for accommodations in the college courses.  Please contact Ms. Sauber for information on the SAS office.
