Unit 6: Causes of the Civil War: Students can analyze the early and steady attempts to abolish slavery and to realize the ideals of the Declaration of Independence. Students can analyze multiple causes of the Civil War.

Unit 7: Civil War & Reconstruction: Students can explain how the Civil War Era connected to/resolved/clarified the meaning of “all men are created equal” and the debate between federal and state power. Students can apply the key concepts of American freedom to the experience of the Freedmen during Reconstruction.

20th Century Preview
Unit 8: Decade Project: Students can create a museum exhibit explaining the significance of a key 20th Century Event.
