  • ETSU Important Dates:

October 1- Complete FAFSA (ETSU school code: 003487) as soon as possible with prior-year income and tax information.

November 1- Review your FAFSA results at www.fafsa.gov. If selected for verification, review requirements on GoldLink, and submit all requested documents to ETSU office of Financial Aid.

January 17- Deadline to complete FAFSA for TSAA Grant Eligibility.

February 1- Follow up on your financial aid status by checking your ETSU email, the " Financial Aid" tab on GoldLink, or with Office of Financial Aid.

April 15 - Priority date to have FAFSA filed, verification complete, all corrections made, and file ready to award for Fall term.

June 1 - All awards on GoldLink must be accepted or declined and all student requirements must be received and complete for aid to be ready for start of Fall term.

  • ETSU Promise Plus

Greetings from East Tennessee State University! I know that now, maybe more than every before, your students and their families are worried about the cost associated with attending college. There is so much going on in our world and many families are experiences new and unique challenges! Here at ETSU, we want to ensure that obtaining a university degree is obtainable for your students and want to highlight briefly the ETSU Promise Plus Program for incoming students.


The ETSU Promise Plus Program is for incoming freshman who are receiving the maximum Pell Grant and the Tennessee HOPE Scholarship. Students receiving both of these awards are eligible for the ETSU Promise Plus Program! ETSU Promise Plus includes:

  • 4 years of free tuition at ETSU

  • Up to $6,000 in on-campus housing scholarships ($1,500 annually)

  • Free participation in pre-college programs, including orientation, Preview ETSU, and QUEST.

  • A seat in ETSU's first-year experience course designed to support a successful transition to college.

  • Access to faculty and peer mentors

  • Career support

  • Free membership to the Buccaneer Family Association

Interested students should apply for admission to East Tennessee State University and submit their FAFSA. Our office is notifying students about eligibility starting in December. Please let us know if you have any questions. We are here to help!


  • We also have some other important announcements for your college-bound students:

    1. In light of the COVID-19 situation, ETSU will be test-optional for 2021 admission

    2. We will superscore ACT/SAT scores for both admission and scholarships

    3. The Academic Performance Scholarship deadline will be pushed from December 15 to March 1
