In KS1, children are taught phonics to help them with their reading and spelling. This looks at the sounds made by groups of letters and how sounds can be made in different ways. Below is our phonics grid.
Before starting Year 3, it is important that children can spell the 200 High Frequency Words. These words make up the basics of all writing.
Children will then move on to the Year 3 and Year 4 spelling list.
Each week, you will get a spelling list to practise based on the rules we have been learning in school. Below are some activities you can do to help you practise your spellings.
