Neal 37 Team,

Last night I had a dream I went to prison, not to minister but as punishment for a crime. It was a scary experience. Everyone seemed to have an advantage over me, even the other inmates. To keep this email short, I won't go into all the details. However, in my dream I was an inmate when the Neal 37 team had their Kairos weekend in the unit. I wasn't actually a participant on the weekend, but seeing your faces gave me hope. I knew everything was going to be okay. I still had to stay in prison, but somehow things were better as hope arrived with the Kairos team.

After spending today thinking about this dream, here is what I know:

1) Neal 37 will happen, even if I'm not here. You are the team, I'm blessed to be along for the ride.

2) God is in control, not us.

3) Our team has a bigger impact that just those participants who get to be on the Kairos weekend. Only a few men in white get to go on a Kairos weekend, but the impact of a Kairos weekend ripples throughout the unit and eternity.

4) I'm reminded of our verse. All of us, like sheep have strayed away. We have left God's paths to follow our own. Yet the LORD laid on him the sins of us all. And that says it all, doesn't it?

Saturday we will have our 4th team meeting. This is NOT a team training. Sure, training may happen, but that's not the point of these meetings. These are team building meetings to bring our team, Neal 37, together as one. When we go into Neal, we go in unified. We can not do this effectively if we are not at the team meetings. (Plus I genuinely miss you when you aren't there.) Our focus for this team meeting is Encountering Others. We will begin with a fundraiser for Kairos Torch. They are making omelets, biscuits, sausage, and gravy with a fruit tray. Be there at 7:45 to get breakfast before we start the meeting. Bring your notebooks, street weekend cross if you have one, and a big appetite! For lunch we are doing a potluck. Bring your favorite dish.
