Library and Information Week '20

The theme this year is ‘Create’ which showcases the ways that libraries support their patrons to create. The manner in which this support occurs has necessarily altered over this recent period but online resources have still been provided to ignite interest and inspiration. The library and information week this year is set up to invite you to think about some of the things you might have been doing over the past months as projects and fun diversions.

At this time you can start to think about the different ways you’ve accessed information you may have needed in completing projects or where the inspiration to start a new project came from. Whether you’ve been reading, writing, watching interesting series, spending time in the garden, exercising, cooking, listening to music or starting on completely new and novel projects- this week acknowledges your creative process and resilience over this time.

May Book Review: Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman

Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine is a great choice for a feel-good read. The book follows Eleanor, a complicated young woman, as she navigates her life. At first Eleanor can be difficult to warm up to and understand but she slowly grows, takes herself out of her comfort zone and develops a confidence and better understanding of herself. There are great characters in this novel who are really memorable but seeing Eleanor’s growth as a character is what make this such a powerful and worthwhile read. Definitely worth searching out if you haven’t read it yet!
