My name is Ms. Lauren Kulick and I am the instrumental band director here at JTMS.
I have grown up right here in Jefferson Township, and am an alumnus of both the Jefferson Middle and High schools. I was in all the music ensembles that I could be when I was in high school, including the Golden Falcons Marching Band.
After graduating from JTHS, I went to Montclair State University where I received my Bachelor degree in Music Education. My instrument of focus at Montclair was the french horn.
I completed my Masters Degree from Messiah College, PA with a degree in Conducting.
This will be my 17th year here as band director in JTMS. This is my fourth year as head Marching Band director of the Jefferson Twp. High School Golden Falcons.
I am an active musician in the area, playing French horn in the Jefferson Twp. Community Band and with the Covenant Brass Quintet.
For seven years I marched in the mellophone section, and was a brass instructor in a competitive drum and bugle core, Fusion Core, which competes in the DCA (Drum Corps Association) circuit.
My husband and I reside here in the Jefferson Community with our 4 cats, Pele, Darwin, Smoosh and Kiara. When I am not instructing or practicing my instrument, you will most likely see me on the trails running, hiking, mountain biking or fly fishing.
I am a part-time wildland firefighter with the New Jersey Forest Fire Service, which I am a Deputy Warden and have been an active member of for quite a few years.
