Concerts and performances are frequent with all bands. Students should consult their calendars for dates and times.
Concerts are considered to have three parts: warm-up, performance, and listening.
· The concert begins for the student at the warm-up, which is a half hour before the start of the concert (usually 6:30pm). Punctuality is essential!!
JTMS Band Concerts start at 7pm.
When not performing, all band students support their fellow musicians by listening to the concert as audience members.
A concert concludes when the last group performs, which is typically about 8:15pm.
· All concerts are a group effort; thus, ATTENDANCE IS REQUIRED!!!
· All concerts are an extension of the classroom and will be graded accordingly.
· Students should be punctual and prepared for each performance/concert.
· Guidelines for concert attire are as follows:
Boys should wear black pants, white shirts that are tucked in with collars, a tie, and nice socks and shoes. Girls should wear black pants or skirts that go below knee length when seated and a white top.
Jeans, shorts, and sneakers are not considered appropriate concert apparel.
