Graduates

Pradyumna Joshi:  I did BSc in Microbiology from Gogate Joglekar College, Ratnagiri, and M.Sc. in Microbiology from the Institute of Science, Mumbai University. I have qualified CSIR-UGC JRF and ICAR NET. I joined the lab in August 2018 and reading textbooks, watching movies and farming are my hobbies. 

My research work is focusing on understanding the interplay of Nup107 complex and dELYS in Drosophila

SuryaDev Mishra: I did B.Sc. (ZBC) from Lucknow university and a double M.Sc. in Biotechnology  (2014) and Chemistry (2017) from BBAU Lucknow.  I also earned a MPhil degree from Central University of Gujarat. I have qualified CSIR, DBT and and ICMR JRF exams. I joined the group in January 2019 and I like reading textbooks, traveling and planting tree. 

I am exploring the in vitro and in cellulo proteins labeling under the co-supervision of Dr. Vishal Rai from the Chemistry department, IISER Bhopal.

Garima Joshi: I completed B.Sc. in Advanced Zoology and Biotechnology from Women's  Christian College, Chennai, and M.Sc. in Biotechnology from the University of Madras. I have qualified GATE and joined the lab in January 2020. I enjoy music, poetry writing, and bird watching, Watching movies, and reading online blogs is what I do in my leisure time. 

I will be working on cytoskeletal intermediate filament dynamics and nucleoporins in cancer projects.

Jyotsna Kawadkar: I graduated from Regional Institute of Education, Bhopal and completed my MSc in Zoology from Dr. Hari Singh Gour Vishwavidyalaya, Sagar, Madhya Pradesh. I have qualified CSIR-JRF and INSPIRE fellowship and joined the lab in January 2020. Beyond academics, I enjoy drawing and listening music in my spare time. I like to visit adventurous places, read stories and watch movies. 

In my research work, I will be focusing on dissection of nucleoporin biology in Drosophila and Plasmodium

Divya Bindra: Born in the capital city of Delhi, I completed my B.Sc. from Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences, Delhi University after which I moved to the University of Hyderabad to pursue M.Sc. in Biotechnology. I have qualified for the CSIR-NET JRF and GATE examinations and joined the lab in August 2020. When not in the lab, you would find me segueing from sports to exploring places or writing songs or poems. 

I will be working to delineate the relation between Nucleoporin overexpression and cancer.

Harshvardhan Singh: Coming from the holy city of Mathura, I completed my B.Sc. from Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan Vishwavidyalaya, Mathura, and M.Sc. in Biotechnology from the Central University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. I have qualified for CSIR-NET JRF, DBT-NET, and GATE examinations and joined the lab in August 2021. My co-curricular interests involve playing Basketball, Badminton, and Cricket. 

I will wrestle with SUMO and will explore details of the SUMOylation process operating in different cellular pathways leading to cell proliferation and migration.

Nikita Sharma: I hail from the Bikaner, Rajasthan. I obtained my MSc in Microbiology with Gold medal from the Central University of Rajasthan, Ajmer. I qualified the GATE examinations in both Biotechnology and Life Sciences, as well as DBT-JRF scholarship. I find great joy and solace in painting and traveling. 

Joined the NSBG in July 2023 and my research will focus on the importance of Nucleoporins of Y-complex in neuro-developmental studies on Drosophila.

Akshita Gupta: I belong to the pink city Jaipur. I graduated from university Maharani college, Jaipur. Moving from that, I completed my MSc in Zoology from University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. I have qualified CSIR NET JRF and GATE examinations and joined the lab in August 2022. My co curricular activities are music and singing, Art and craft and exploring new places.

I will working towards identifying roles nucleoporins play in immune cell development and function.

Kaveri A. S.: Native of Trivandrum, Kerala, am a BS-MS graduate from IISER Bhopal. I have qualified GATE-2022 examination in Life science and Biotechnology and INSPIRE Fellowship and have joined the lab for my Ph.D. in August 2022. The hobbies I enjoy most are dancing, listening to music, and embroidering.

My research will focus on the importance and consequences of Nucleoporin, Sumoylation, on their downstream cellular effects.

Shaunak Joshi: Hailing from Thane, Maharashtra, I am a fifth-year BS-MS student. For my master's thesis, I will be studying the SUMOylation of cytoskeleton proteins. When not working, you will find me reading, watching a movie or you won't find me because I enjoy travelling.

Rohit Kumar: I hail from the holy city Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, I am a fifth year BS-MS student. I will be working towards unraveling the role of Nup43 protein in the neurobiology of Drosophila melanogaster. Primarily focused on neurobehavioral aspects, I aim to explore its implications in the development and function of the nervous system. Beyond my scientific pursuits, I have a passion for reading graphic novels , alongside enjoying music and travelling.
