It was followed by a memory saturating visually appealing trip to Orchha (Ram Raja temple, Orchha palace, Chaturbhuj temple, Chhatris, and River rafting on Betwa River), Gwalior (Gwalior fort, Light and sound show, and Jay Vilas palace), Bateshwar group of temples, Morena (Reassembled temples from ruins, Mahadev temple), Padawali and Mitawali (Mahadev temples).
Attended the 15th Nucleocytoplasmic transport (NCT) meeting (20-25th October) held at Hyeres, Southern part of France. Incredible experience of sharing thought and ideas with stalwarts in the field of NCT and NPC Biology.
Ashley, Aditi Chaudhary, and Aditi Dekate graduated with BS-MS and MSc degrees. Ashley has joined. Ashley was declared as the winner of the Proficiency Medal in Biological Sciences. He has joined IMPRS, Munster, Germany, for a PhD.
Jyotsna won First prize in Life Sciences the MP Young Scientist Award at the event held at Madhav Institute of Science and Technology, Gwalior.
3rd Day long NSBG lab meeting then a memorable trip to Pachmarhi. The stay at NCBS field station and an outreach for kids at Pachmarhi was very entertaining. Visits to Ramya-Kund, Dhoop garh, Ridge caves, Pandav caves and Handi Khoh are still fresh and etched in the memory for ever.
Smrithi and Agastya graduate with BS-MS degree in July 2023. Smrithi will join Dr. Angela's group in IGBMC, France for her PhD.

2nd One day long lab meeting was convened at Surya Resort, Jabalpur. Scientific ambience and prime of nature was enjoyed thoroughly.

NSBG welcomes Kaveri AS and Akshita Gupta as PhD students. Kaveri, an alumnus of the lab, will work on assessing the functions of Nuceloporin (Nup) SUMOylation on their function, while Akshita will focus on studying the nucleoporins functions in immune cell (PBMCs and PMNs).
Sajeev will receive his PhD degree in the convocation to be held on 3rd July 2022.
Aswini and Girish also graduated with BS-MS degree to be awarded in the convocation.
Smrithi KS joins lab to work on her MS thesis project. She will be studying dElys in company of Pradyumna. Agastya Singh will work in Dr. Sreelaja Nair at IIT bombay for his MS thesis work.

Usha successfully defended her thesis on 11th May 2020. She is officially a doctor of Philosophy. Congratulations!!!!! She just could not OVEREXPRESS her joy enough on successful thesis defence in Covid-19 style. Usha's work provides clue that continued interaction (Nup88-62) is important for stability.
