What Did You Just Call Me? Act I
Names are used to define, classify, understand, and represent us. We will be looking at how names are used in different situations and how they can affect the development of an organization or individual. Since we will be working as a team for the entire year, we need a name that fits our team's identity and goals. In order to find a brilliant name that will suit our team, we will analyze successful (and unsuccessful) marketing campaigns. Students will work in design groups to market and sell their ideal team name and identity. As a team we will decide which campaign is most persuasive and best identifies who we are and who we will be as a ninth grade team. In addition, we will analyze the use of names in our personal lives and students will write a creative piece about a name they have been called.
