McREL Evaluation Information
Purpose:
The McRel Teacher Evaluation System is intended to assess teacher performance as it relates to Professional Teaching Standards. In turn, data gathered as a result of the evaluation is intended to guide the teacher in creating his/her Professional Development Plan. The evaluator and teacher will participate in the evaluation process by utilizing the teacher self-evaluation, presenting artifiacts, and performing in class observations.
The Evaluation System will serve as a measure of performance for teachers that will guide the teacher to improve overall effectiveness. The tool will also aid district personnel in the formulation and attainment of district goals and objectives, as well as guide professional development and teacher-mentor programs.
