Week 8
Day 1
Today we went down to Columbus to mee our new clients. The whole experience was kind of disorienting. Partly because 5 minutes after getting onto the the highway I fell into a really deep sleep and didn't get out of it until we got to our destination in Columbus and partly because we had no idea who are new client would be, what industry they would be in or really any basic information about them. Even when we got into the building where their office was located it was hard to tell what kid of business we were going to be involved in. I had never heard of Health Spot before coming into their office and although I was confused about the concept of Health Spot but after a really cool and in depth demonstration I found the product to be really intriguing and I wouldn't be surprised to see one at every corner in the next few years. The thing that got me most excited about Health Spot was the amount of research that the creator put in before even trying to make his product. It was refreshing to hear this after having to do so much basic research that should have been done already for our last client. I'm also really excited about my group. I'm working with Alex, Eliza, and Corey who are all people who I've worked with before. I'm excited to see how Alex and Eliza have grown since first working with them and I am excited in general because I already know that I work well with all of these people. Since the challenges that the teams have are all different it is interesting that we are taking that aspect of competition away from the class. I am curious to see how that will effect how teams work. It will definitely be interesting since my group will be working with connecting General Practitioners to Health Spots because there are so many ways we can take this challenge.
Health Spot was our first that I seriously felt a sense of urgency and I think this is shown in this blog post. Its true starting with this client was disorienting because of all work that didn't know I was going to need to do.
Week 9
Day 2
Today was a really busy day, we had a lot of interviews set up for us in the afternoon so we really needed to plan and make sure we got everything done efficiently. Because of this the morning was spent making sure we really looked over all the information we acquired prior to today and made sure they way we took notes a the questions we asked were similar so we could quantify our findings. We also decided how best divide our work so we could make all of the meetings. Since I set up the phone interview with Dr. Kelly, Alex and I stayed in a car that we had parked at the Cleveland Clinic parking lot while Eliza and Corey got ready for the first interview. Once Alex and I were done we moved the cars to a parking lot closer to where the meeting would be taking place and then joined Eliza and Corey for the end of the first interview. We then went to our second in person interview with the head of pediatrics and this time Corey and Alex moved the cars while Eliza and I started the interview. This doctor actually had a contact for us that knew a lot about HealthSpot and Telehealth who could meet with us right away so he called him and we talked for a little bit. He had a presentation to go to so we continued to talk to him while on the elevator. We got a lot of really good information from these interviews today. A lot of it verified what were already thinking and brought up concerns that we had not yet thought of like how HealthSpot could help unify the billing process. This was definitely our most efficient day as a team so far.
I chose this post because I think this was one of our most productive days. Everything just clicked and we were able to use our time as efficiently as possible.
