Although this was a final presentation, this was probably one of the worst presentations I’ve given. It was embarrassing. Even so in my naive mind I wrote in my blog post that ”today’s presentations went better than expected” My team had a lot of negative feedback from the first presentation that we did that I missed. I'm glad we were able to recover well and take in what was said to us last week and put it to good use. It was cool being able to check in with the Findaway people after being away from them for so long and to hear what they have been doing and what they think of the progress we have been making. I am really glad that they liked the idea of having Bookopotamus become a website which is something I think will benefit them greatly. I wish I could have been there for the first presentation because I feel and though I am a person who is comfortable with public speaking and I am able to speak well and articulate ideas. I'm glad this week we were able to practice and really lock down what we were going to say. I think that helped the rest of my team become more comfortable with speaking. There were a lot of things we did this week, like explaining the product as if no one had ever heard of it, that we can continue to do in future presentations. I can’t believe how much we looked at the board during this presentation and how fast everyone talked. It was honestly really unprofessional. Our whole body language was just way too informal. I’ve always been a person who was really comfortable with public speaking but this was probably one of the worst public speaking jobs I have done. I definitely could have had better vocal variety and I had way too many filler words. The whole tone of this presentation was really informal which might have been because of the kind of company we were working with. There was never any urgency with this company, they didn’t really need our help and what we did wouldn’t make or break their company. We did do a good job of splitting up slides in a way where everyone was talking and it felt like all the slides were evenly divided. I do think that we did a good job of answering questions, this is when we became the most professional. I really don’t like watching this presentation because the content of the slides is so fluffy. We never really talk about anything significant and with the time that we had we definitely could have gone way more in depth. What I wish I could change most and what I think is most important is the whole body language and tone of our presentation. The informality of it was just unacceptable. I think the way one presents themselves can make or break a whole presentation. People often decided the quality of the information by the way it was presented. I think that my team had some good ideas but they probably would have been taken more seriously if we took ourselves more seriously.
