While cultivating educational philosophy which include follower-ship, strengths and weaknesses of leadership skills, time management, people skills and unit management I have focused on what I imagine as the end product of my teaching and the qualities that I would like my Cadets to gain from their educational experience.
I want my cadets to become critical thinkers with the skills to explore and solve problems that exist in the world around them.
I believe that knowledge is subjective and view “epistemology as a process of examining a constantly changing environment". Life and the environment are not static; consequently, I believe that a school’s curriculum should be active and evolving. This is why the cadet must honestly look inward towards their innate abilities and grade themselves within the rules and reflect using the established rubric as a guide to help improve their leadership ability to grade their own uniform and grade their Core Values based upon each individuals performance. The cadet is then required to impart that knowledge learned and explain in detail why they have the grade they said they earned. A cadet who can debate their grade logically and back it up with facts will receive the grade they deserve within the confines of the rubric.
