NJROTC CORE VALUES RUBRIC
The Navy Core Values are Honor, Courage and Commitment. Honor – professional and personal Behavior. Couragemoral and mental strength do what is right with confidence and resolution. Commitment - join together as a team to improve the quality of the unit, fellow cadets and themselves. 20% of your weekly NJROTC grade will be based upon these three values. The reference for these values are found in the Intro to NJROTC page 6-9. Naval Science III pgs 108– 117. Grade will be based upon 1. Obedience – following orders or directions a.. Obedience can be blind or reasoned. Blind is an automatic response and reasoned is learning and using own ideas. 2. Professional Knowledge - strives to learn from other cadets and instructors and imparts that knowledge to make the unit successful. 3. Initiative an important character trait to exemplify honor, courage and commitment. a. wearing the uniform and PT gear. , learning professional knowledge, increasing your PT score. 4. Courage – a quality that enables us to accept our responsibilities and to carry them out regardless of the consequences. Conquer our inner fears. 5.Display – at all times core values must be carried out by all NJROTC cadets.
