Our Summer Learning website provides a range of suggested activities by grade level. Summer learning comes in many forms. The site includes suggestions to help students explore, learn, and practice over the summer.

Grade 5 Short Wednesday 

After School Program

Glastonbury Parks & Recreation has a wide variety of programs being offered in our elementary school buildings during the shortened Wednesday schedule. Programs run from August to November and March to May.  Participating GWS grade five students will be bused from GWS to either Hopewell or Naubuc. Be sure to register at these schools. Mark "yes" on the form when asked if your child attends GWS. For details about the programs, times and locations, please visit the Glastonbury Parks & Rec website.

GWS: No Place For Hate

Once again, in 2022-2023, Gideon Welles School was selected as a No Place for Hate School by the Anti-Defamation LeagueNo Place for Hate is "a school climate improvement program that provides staff, students and their families with a framework to take a stand against all forms of hate and communicate a clear, unified message that all students have a place where they belong. "
