experience quality literature in many formats and genres, including fiction, non-fiction, humor, and Caldecott Award winning books.
participate by hearing, viewing, and responding to discussions
begin to distinguish between fiction and non-fiction and their locations in the library
begin to learn to select appropriate books independently
