Announcements
This month we are celebrating literacy AND technology in the Library.
For the first time in several years, we celebrated Read Across America Day at Buttonball by inviting members of our community to visit classrooms and read to students. We were so fortunate to have members of the Superintendent’s office, fire, police, news media, legislature and local businesses visit our school and celebrate reading together.
March is also STEAM month, and the Library Media Center has much to celebrate. This is the first year that every grade will have lessons in coding, some using robots, and some unplugged. The LMC will be part of our STEAM night on March 14th, 5:30-7:30. We will offer activities in coding and also feature our new Makerspace cart of hands-on engineering challenges. You can also check our Green Screen “studio” which 4th graders are using to produce videos highlighting Connecticut landmarks.
