Carpool Information
It is VERY important that all parents stay in their vehicles at arrival and dismissal. Students will NOT be dismissed to parents who walk up to the building. This is for the safety and security of your child. Please help us with this.
The teacher will be bringing your child out when the child's name is called in the carpool lane. Please DO NOT get out of your car. Please go through the correct carpool lane. Be sure not to turn left into the carpool lane. Staff members will approach your car, read the child's name on your car tag, and bring out your student. If you don't have a car tag yet, the teacher will give you one. Car tags should include the student's name, grade, and the teacher's name. K and 1st are at the carpool lane on the Robinson Rd. side of the school. 2nd - 5th carpool lane is on the Crystal Creek side of the campus. They are labeled with signs. See attached map. Carpool Map
Bus Riders
Students will be given a lanyard to wear with their bus tag information. Students MUST have their bus tags everyday.
Walkers
If your student walks home, they will be taken to one of the crosswalks where the crossing guards are located depending on where they live. The walker locations are on Robinson Rd and Crystal Creek Road.
Siblings
If you have siblings at Riddle and they ride the bus, they will meet each other on the bus, unless they ride the bus to Cortland. The Cortland buses are assigned by grade level. All five buses go straight from Riddle to Cortland. If you have siblings that ride in a car, the older sibling will pick up the younger sibling (K or 1st) and go out with them. Please go to the carpool lane of the youngest sibling.
Any changes in dismissal must be made to homeroom teachers in writing by 12:00pm. For any changes after 12:00pm please notify the Riddle Elementary Front Office.
In order to limit traffic in and out of the building for security purposes, lunches and other items need to be sent with your child every morning. Parents will not be permitted to enter the building to drop off these items each day. There will be grade-level bins located outside to drop off forgotten items like jackets, backpacks, and lunches. These bins will not be ideal places for food items due to the heat, so please send food items with your children. These bins will be checked by a teacher from the grade level once a day. Please plan accordingly.
Dismissal Procedures
Please take a moment to review our dismissal procedures and the update to K-2 and 3-5 locations.
If you have questions, ask your child’s teacher or call the front office.
Please note that at the start of every year, traffic flows a little slowly as we are all learning. Once everyone learns the procedures, we can complete our whole dismissal in 10-15 minutes. It is really important we all model the patience, collaboration, and perseverance we want our kids to learn as we work through learning arrival and dismissal procedures.
